In Science, we are continuing with the lesson about natural resources. Tomorrow, students will work to complete the lesson check up with their groups. The remainder of the week, we will work on the natural resources writing prompt as previously discussed. Please refer to the previous post for further information: http://3-burnette.weebly.com/burnettes-blog/writing-in-science
We will have a Turner Timed Test in math tomorrow. Students have set goals to beat their scores from our first test session. Please continue to practice these basic facts at home! We are finishing up our lessons about angles and 3D figures. Once we complete all of the components for these topics, we will move on to telling time and determining elapsed time. The best practice for this skill is real world problems. Have your child randomly tell you the time throughout the day. Also, have them figure out the amount of time between two events. There are several great Brain Pop, Jr. videos and activities that would be a wonderful review for them at home: https://jr.brainpop.com/math/time/ We are working on Math 4 Today #22 this week. We will complete the study guide in class on Thursday and our test will be on Friday as usual. We will also have a Core Bites test on Wednesday. We will complete the study guide in class tomorrow. Also - please remember that science fair projects are due next Tuesday, February 14 by 8:15am. (In the event your students is absent or tardy, please be sure that projects are turned in by this time.) Students that complete a science fair project will receive 2 extra credit 100s in Science. Please let me know if you have any additional questions or comments. I am looking forward to a great week!

We did complete a science project together in class, but that was just to model the process and the layout to assist them with their own projects. Science fair projects are not required, however, they do earn 2 extra credit 100s if they complete one, so it is strongly recommended. They are due by 8:15am next Tuesday, February 14. We also still have extra boards/headers for sale at the school. $3 for boards, $2 for headers. Thanks!
