Hello, everyone! I hope everyone had a great weekend. This week's homework can be found below. You can click on the agenda photo to download an additional copy of the homework sheets. In math this week, we are continuing to focus on fractions. We will work on parts (c) and (d) of the 3.NSF.1 (pg. 26) standard, which focuses on fractions on a number line and fractions of a set and area. We will also working on Math 4 Today #10. We will review the study guide together in class on Thursday and our test will be on Friday, as usual. In Science, we fell a little behind, so we are still working on Chapter 2 Lesson 2, which discusses how electric charges flow in a circuit. We will work in groups on Thursday to complete the Lesson 2 Check up.
Last week, we did an activity with the circuits to develop an understanding of how switches work. Students worked to identify open circuits and closed circuits.
Please remember that this week is Red Ribbon Week. Activities for the week can be found below, along with this week's 3rd grade newsletter. I would also like to congratulate my homeroom for having the most number of blue ribbons in the Math Study Island lab. Each student received a homework pass and we have a certificate on display inside our classroom. I am so proud of their hard work and effort in the computer lab! Lily Willis was also recognized for having the highest total for our class. Way to go, Lily!
Please let me know if you have any questions or concerns throughout the week. I would be happy to speak with you!
