The Chicks are hatching!!!!! Good morning! As you can see, we have 2 baby chicks so far! Another chick is pipping from a 3rd egg, and we are hopeful for more! I don’t know that I’ve ever seen students so excited about Life Science! I have attached the DREAM Worksheet, Newsletter, and Multiplication Log for the week. In Science, we will finish up our study of plant and animal adaptations. Our test will be on Wednesday. Students will bring home their study guides today. (Attached) They also have many other resources in their Orange Folder to help them study. On Thursday, we will be introduced to our unit on habitats, and on Friday we will be gone on our Field Trip. I am really excited about our habitat unit! We will read about the different habitats on Thursday in our PASS Coach. On Tuesday, we will attend a Watershed program about habitats (Please send $1 by Friday), and then on Thursday and Friday we will be visiting Ms. Beech in the library where students will research the different habitats and then teach their classmates about what they have learned! In Math, we are going to be working on multi-digit multiplication and multiplication word problems. We have a “Scoot” activity planned for Wednesday where students will move around to different stations in the room to practice their word problem skills. We are also working on Math 4 Today #25. We will do Day 3 & Day 4 on Wednesday and our test will be moved to Thursday because of the field trip. I will collect DREAM sheet and Multiplication logs on Friday before we leave! Please be reminded that our Awards day is this Tuesday at 8:15am in the cafeteria. Also remember to have your child wear his or her Class T-Shirt for the Field Trip Friday. (Burnette’s homeroom is black and Mitchell’s homeroom is blue.) Students are also asked to bring a small blanket or towel to sit on for lunch. Please make sure that your child’s name is on the tag. Students may also bring money to purchase crafts made by the Native Americans. The souvenirs begin at $1 and go up. I would think $5 would be the max you should send for safety purposes. If you will remember, I emailed before MAP testing began about Study Island Logs. (I have attached the email again for your convenience.) We are beginning these today in the Math Computer lab. I will review these and send them home next Monday with graded test papers. Please make sure to sign and return Dojo Reports and test papers for this week. (Dojo points reset today for the new 9 weeks!) I hope everyone has a wonderful day! Please email me with any questions or concerns!
