Hello! This week's homework can be found on the agenda page below. You can click on the photo to download an additional copy of the homework sheets.
A paper copy of the newsletter is attached to graded test papers and Dojo reports. Please be sure to sign these and return them tomorrow. In science, we are working on the first lesson of Chapter 4. This is about natural resources. Students will complete their lesson check with their group as we do with every lesson. I will continue reinforcing writing skills that they are working on with Ms. Mitchell. At the end of the week, we will also begin working on a text dependent writing prompt that correlates with our science content. I will model the entire process this week and we will complete a writing together as a class. Next week, students will receive a new topic, passage, and prompt and they will write their own. We are very excited about integrating these writing skills into science to help prepare them for the SC Ready test at the end of the year.
In math, we are discussing types of angles and 3D figures. We will use the following websites in class and they would be an excellent at home review: https://jr.brainpop.com/math/geometry/solidshapes/ http://studyjams.scholastic.com/studyjams/jams/math/geometry/classify-angles.htm http://studyjams.scholastic.com/studyjams/jams/math/geometry/solid-figures.htm We are working on Math 4 Today Week #21. We will complete our study guide together on Thursday and our test will be on Friday. Please continue to work on multiplication facts at home. We are practicing these in class and our next "official" Turner Time Test will be next week. Their scores from their first attempt are being sent home today with graded papers. Students should set goals to improve their scores each time we test it. Tomorrow will be our last day of Mock Testing. We will be testing math. Please make sure that your student is at school on time and gets plenty of rest tonight. I know they will do great! If you have any additional questions, please feel free to comment below or message me through email. Thanks and I hope everyone has a wonderful week!
