Dojo: https://home.classdojo.com/#/signup?_k=4l4xen You will need a code for linking to your student's Dojo account. This is on the second page of your registration folder. If you have misplaced it or need help, please feel free to email me and I can provide you with the code again. Below is a list of other documents that you may wish to download: A common question we received yesterday was about "cubbies". At WES, we do not have “cubbies”, nor do we have “desks” that we can store things in, which means that their backpack is their main device of storage. We will do our best to collect and unpack all community supplies on the first day of school, however, sometimes we get busy reviewing rules and procedures and do not get everything done. If we are unable to collect everything on the first day, please do not remove it thinking it is not needed.....we will collect it on Tuesday for sure! After we finish collecting materials, there will be items that will stay in their backpacks. They need their binders, homework folders, agendas, and pencil pouch with included items in their backpack at all times. This will enable us to use them both at school AND at home. If your child comes to school without their binder (for example), they are unable to fully participate and record important information, so they will lose a Dojo point for being unprepared. Of course we will be accommodating during the first few weeks of school, but we hope to help them develop into responsible students and hold them accountable for our expectations. The first day of school for students is August 15th. Parents of third graders are welcome to walk their students in the first few days of school. Students sit in the hallway outside the classroom and read with the "Morning Duty Teacher" until 7:45. At 7:45, they will enter homeroom and we will check attendance, make lunch choices, and watch the news show together as a class. Please remember to mark your calendars for Tuesday, August 16th, 5:00pm - 6:30pm. This is our 3rd Grade Orientation night. Parents will come to the classroom to learn all about third grade while students watch a movie in the cafeteria under the supervision of the special area teachers and administration. Following our classroom time, we will move to the back lawn for a cookout and fellowship. This is an awesome event that you will not want to miss! If you have ANY questions, reservations, concerns, comments, etc before the first day, please do not hesitate to email me or Ms. Mitchell. We understand that this is a new school with different expectations, procedures, and rules....it is a huge transition and they are your babies. We want to do everything we can to make this a smooth process for everyone! We are very excited about this group and are looking forward to a great school year! -Mrs. Burnette & Ms. Mitchell
