Good morning! I have attached the DREAM homework sheet, Third Grade newsletter, and Multiplication log for the week. I failed to send home the new multiplication log on Friday, so I have instructed students to “X” through the weekend block. In Science, we are working on Food Chains. We originally planned to test this week, however, we will not be able to finish the unit in time. Our test will be next Tuesday, April 29th. Students are responsible for knowing the following vocabulary terms: producer, consumer, decomposer, predator, prey, carnivore, herbivore, omnivore, food chain, and food web. (www.3-burnette.weebly.com) In Math, we are working on Math 4 Today Week #28. Our test will be on Friday, as usual. We are going back and reviewing rounding because I have noticed that this is a troublesome area for most of the class. The links below are great rounding review: http://www.brainpopjr.com/math/numbersense/rounding/preview.weml http://studyjams.scholastic.com/studyjams/jams/math/problem-solving/psestimate-whole-numbers.htm We will also be working in small groups again this week according to our weaknesses determined by the MAP test. Ask your student if they know what strand they are lowest in. The children LOVE working in groups, and I love seeing them work with their groups constructively. I also enjoy getting to work with them in a more one on one setting (when I meet with their group). We work on the dry erase slates – they really seem to benefit from this! Dojo reports and graded test papers will be sent home today. Please sign and return them by tomorrow. Let me know if you have any further questions or concerns. I hope everyone had a wonderful Easter!
